Blessings ≠ Money

Just last year I realized that I equated “Blessings” or being “Blessed” with having money…I would always pray for God to bless my family and myself, with the though of him providing for us with money. One night as I was praying, God informed me of what I was doing and he told me that i’m not only being blessed when he sends me money…but with many other ways. As a child i’d deal with things I shouldn’t have and I would always only see the negative side to it, i’d never see how any good could come from it…for years I thought this, until about 2/3 years ago…it all started to unravel and I could the see the blessing in it all. In what i’ve been through and what I was faced with, I can help others who are or were just like me. Blessings don’t always seem or feel good, but they always have a purpose in the end…you can be going through the worst time possible, but you best believe there’s some good hidden beneath all the pain.
Matthew 5: 3-12
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of God.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in Heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
